I recently got a question from James in Australia about the challenges small institutions face with using and deploying SharePoint.  I know a lot of people are in this position where they want to use SharePoint but don't have the resources to support hosting it internally.   You can check out Microsoft Online Services, they offer SharePoint hosting via SharePoint Online.   http://www.microsoft.com/online/sharepoint-online.mspx

Hope this helps, thanks James!

You might also take a look @ http://www.fpweb.net/

They were the first to offer hosted SharePoint and have more granular service options that cater to cost conscious small business owners. I've been very impressed with their offerings.

Tobias has written a great intro to SharePoint Online here: http://www.zimmergren.net/archive/2009/02/12/sharepoint-online-%E2%80%93-a-first-look.aspx

Then there's a few other blogs popping up these days as well with SPOL info

I was having the same problem. Thanks for the direction Heather. I didn't think thier was a way to incorporate it before I read that article on microsoft. Even if you don't have the resources to host it internally their are other solutions!
